Bio VOGEL

As a fifteen-year-old teenager, Annette Vogel bought a guitar and, three weeks later, sang the song ‘House of the Rising Sun’ beneath the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam. That was the beginning of her musical career. She soon started writing her own songs. First in Dutch, later in English and French. Many of her songs delve deeper into the philosophical subject of ‘who or what are we actually?’ She writes about the search for the meaning of existence, truth, and love.

Mario Kaspers is Annette’s regular bassist. They went on a musical tour in the USA; they were booked in New York, Baltimore, Nashville, and Fayetteville (AR), among others.
Since 2019, following an audition, the duo has been admitted to the Musiciens du Metro Parisienne network. During the lockdown in 2020/2021, they shared many livestreams on American and English platforms. As a result, they were invited to play in Scotland in the summer of 2022. They then undertook a musical tour from Newcastle and Dumfries to Glasgow and Edinburgh. Because Annette often plays on the streets in France, she decided to translate a number of her songs into French in the spring of 2024. This immediately landed her in the final of the Concours Français in Amsterdam.

Annette and Mario travel to France every summer to play on the streets, but they can also regularly be heard at the Buikslotermeerplein in Amsterdam-North.

In 2025, Annette and Mario recorded a number of her French-language songs at studio King Forward in Volendam. Together with producer Frank Bond, a beautiful EP was created and released in February 2026 (Chansons de Voyage).
